Magdalena Bay

A serialized story told entirely in verse.

Well, there is a small twist:

Every aspect of the creative process will unfold online, meaning:
Like shifting dunes, the narrative will constantly reshape itself.

This makes it a potentially interesting tool for English language teachers.

Why?

This approach invites readers into the heart of the creative process.

While this method presents challenges and imperfections, it also opens the door to exciting opportunities for literary analysis and engagement.

Will it enhance the storytelling experience? That remains to be seen!

What does this mean for you as a reader?

You won’t just read the story—you’ll witness its creation, evolution, and occasional unravelling.

You’ll be able to ask questions and explore the "why" behind every decision: (trivial > minor > major)

What does this mean for me as a writer?

This is my first attempt at writing a story.
It’s daunting, and I’ll admit—I feel insecure about it.

My hope is that Magdalena Bay develops a small following, enough to keep me motivated to finish it.

Also, as a trainee English teacher, I’m deeply aware of how many teenagers lack enthusiasm for reading. But what if experiencing the creative process vicariously—seeing how a story takes shape, evolves, and sometimes falters—could spark a deeper appreciation for writing?

Could this inspire young readers to engage more deeply with stories?

Could it even encourage them to read more on their own?

Through Magdalena Bay, I want to explore these questions, one verse and one rewrite at a time.

Let’s see where the journey takes us.
